Fortnite Chapter 4 reaps in the winter vibes with Winterfest 2022. In this most recent Fortnite winter event, free in-game presents make their return along with the Cozy Lodge, Sgt. Winter, Snowball Launchers and so much more!

Log in any day between December 13, 2022 at 9 AM EST until January 3, 2022 at 9 AM EST to unwrap your presents, buy exclusive Winterfest skins, and join the holiday cheer in Battle Royale.

Fortnite Presents

What fun are the holidays without some free gifts? To celebrate Winterfest 2022, Fortnite will be giving away 14 Presents from December 13, 2022 at 9 AM EST until January 3, 2022 at 9 AM EST.

Log in each day and earn up to 17 free in-game items during Winterfest 2022. If you miss a day, don't worry! Launch Fortnite any day before the end of Winterfest on January 3, 2022 to claim all your Presents.

Where to Find Fortnite Presents

To unwrap your Winterfest 2022 Presents, you will need to visit the Cozy Lodge. You can navigate to the Cozy Lodge by:

• Launch Fortnite.
• In the Lobby, look for the snowflake tab at the top of the screen, to the right of Play.
• Select Visit Lodge.
• Select Continue if this is your first visit to the Cozy Lodge.
• Select either of the stacks of Presents to the left or right in Cozy Lodge.
• Choose your Present.
• Shake the selected Present to try and guess what might be inside.
• Hold the interact button to open your daily Present!

Fortnite Winterfest Skins

'Tis the season to get jolly with Winterfest-themed Outfits in Fortnite! In addition to the two free Outfits awarded in Presents throughout Winterfest 2022, you can unlock an extra free holiday Outfit just by logging into Fortnite during the event!

Plus, two classic Winterfest Outfits make their return to the Item Shop exclusively for Winterfest 2022.

How to Get the Guff Gringle Outfit

You can redeem the following Outfits by logging into Fortnite during the Winterfest 2022 event, anytime from December 13, 2022 at 9 AM EST until January 3, 2022 at 9 AM EST:

To claim the Guff Gringle Outfit:

• Launch Fortnite.
• Select the Item Shop tab at the top, between the Locker and Career tabs.
• Scroll through the Item Shop listings until you navigate to the Special Offers and Bundles section.
• Select Guff Gringle.
• "Purchase" the Guff Gringle Outfit for free in order to claim the Outfit.

Winterfest 2022 Item Shop Outfits

You can purchase the following Outfits from the Item Shop in Fortnite during the Winterfest 2022 event. These Outfits will appear in the Item Shop only from December 13, 2022 at 9 AM EST until January 3, 2022 at 9 AM EST, so check back every day to see if they are available to purchase!

A number of older Winterfest and holiday-themed will be in rotation in the Item Shop throughout Winterfest 2022 as well. Check out the "Featured" and "Tis the Season" sections of the Item Shop to see which Outfits are available to purchase, including Winter Wonder Skye, Glimmer, and more!

You can also earn a free Emote during Winterfest 2022 by completing a unique challenge! During Winterfest 2022 from December 13, 2022 at 9 AM EST until January 3, 2022 at 9 AM EST, play any game mode with five different friends from your Friends list and earn the Curling Iron Emote.

Once the challenge is completed, the Curling Iron Emote will drop on or around January 6, 2022.

Fortnite Cozy Lodge

The Cozy Lodge is a special menu unique to the Winterfest event in Fortnite. Visit the Cozy Lodge to open Presents during the Winterfest 2022 event and claim free prizes!

You can navigate to the Cozy Lodge by:

• Launch Fortnite.
• In the Lobby, look for the snowflake tab at the top of the screen, to the right of Play.
• Select Visit Lodge.
• Select Continue if this is your first visit to the Cozy Lodge.

Once inside the Cozy Lodge, you can select either of the stacks of Presents on the left or right to open your daily Present during the event.

However, that's far from all you can interact with in the Cozy Lodge! Experiment to see what items you can interact with in the Cozy Lodge to unveil special easter eggs, including the mystery Pizza Slice that appears once a day, hidden somewhere in the Cozy Lodge. You might just earn some tasty extra XP.

Don't forget to stop by the Yule Log at the back of the Cozy Lodge to earn some free Supercharged XP every day! Just select the fireplace in the middle of the Cozy Lodge screen, kick back, and watch the XP crackle up from the Yule Log fire.

Where to Find Snowball Launchers in Winterfest 2022

That's right, Snowball Launchers have been unvaulted for Winterfest 2022. Find Snowballs Launchers and Holiday Presents inside Loot Chests and on the floor scattered throughout Battle Royale Island during Winterfest 2022 from December 13, 2022 at 9 AM EST until January 3, 2022 at 9 AM EST.

For a better chance of finding a Snowball Launcher or Holiday Present, try searching out Loot Chests and floor loot in Point of Interest locations on the map, especially locations with heavily condensed buildings.

Snowball Launchers and Holiday Presents are not included in Competitive Playlists.

Where to Find Sgt. Winter in Winterfest 2022

Sgt. Winter might not be holed up in the Cozy Lodge this Winterfest, but that does not mean he's abandoned the holiday altogether. Instead, you can find Sgt. Winter riding his special winter big rig all across Battle Royale Island during Winterfest 2022.

Find Sgt. Winter on his big rig during Battle Royale matches, and he might just throw out a giant present for you to loot. Inside you can expect to find plenty of goodies, from Med Kits, ammo, or if you are lucky perhaps some Epic Weapon drops.

Sgt. Winter appears at random throughout Battle Royale Island. The best way to find Sgt. Winter is to walk or drive along any of the roads across the island, as his rig will always appear driving on a road. For a better chance of catching up to Sgt. Winter's big rig, consider hopping into a vehicle to close the distance.

Patrolling Sgt. Winter interactions are not included in Competitive playlists.

Winterfest 2022 Gameplay Changes

With all this good winter cheer, let's not overlook the changes coming to Fortnite Chapter 4 with the Winterfest 2022 update!

Balance Changes

The following balance adjustments were implemented on December 9, 2022:

• Reduced the time it takes to capture a POI.
• Improved the Tactical Pistol’s accuracy and recoil.
• Improved the Maven Auto Shotgun’s fire rate and accuracy.
• Reduced the Thunder Shotgun’s equip time.
• Reduced the Ex-Caliber Rifle’s player damage and hipfire accuracy, and greatly reduced its environment damage.
• Increased the recharge time of the Shockwave Hammer’s bounce.
• Light Ammo now drops in stacks of 20, up from 18.

Major Battle Royale Bug Fixes

The following bugs have been fixed in Battle Royale:

• For PC players, we have fixed an issue causing the rebinding of Reality Augments to only be available during a match.
• Voice chat settings changed in the Sidebar will now save correctly.
• Fixed an issue causing Overshield damage numbers to appear white.
• The Shockwave Hammer will no longer deal damage to players through structures/builds.
• Mobile players can now swipe through the Battle Pass and are no longer restricted to only pressing the arrow keys
