Position SummaryThe support the production sites in order to guarantee that technical efficiency and equipment safety levels are maintained, in order to achieve objective related to productive activities. Continuously dedicated to enforcing Sofidel’s safety requirements and supporting the Employee Personal Practice Policy.

Essential Functions

• Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practice and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures.
• Guarantee that all the equipment is safe and in good working condition.
• Maintains a safe, clean and tour ready manufacturing area.
• Communicates asset group performance objectives and goals in terms of safety, quality, productivity and efficiency.
• Monitors actual production performance and compares forecast performance to actual performance.
• Analyzes, develops and implements methods for improving production, efficiency and waste.
• Manages employee work schedule process to control and minimize labor cost including overtime and temporary labor.
• Initiates and implements improvement plans when repetitive problems exist.
• Supervises machine service employees assigned to the asset group.
• Works closely with the Plant Manager and the Quality Department to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Prepares and initiates new equipment start up plan.

Other Duties May Include

• Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
• Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/ExperienceTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:Associate or Bachelor degree preferred. Possess basic computer skills – especially Word, Excel and Outlook.

Language AbilityAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.

Math AbilityAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Work EnvironmentPersonal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
